TEXT: The following text book is optional however it is considered to be a very valuable resource to anyone involved in greenhouse production. Ball, Vick. 1998. Ball RedBook, 16th Edition. Ball Publishing Co., Batavia, IL.
ONE HOUR EXAMS (2): There will be two 1 hour exams (March 1 and May 10). Each exam is worth a maximum of 100 points. Each exam will have 25 multiple-choice questions (2 pts. each), 10 fill-in-the-blank (3 pts. Each) and 2 short-answer essays (10 pts. each). Exam questions will come from lectures, labs, and assigned readings. Exams are comprehensive.
QUIZES (4): There will be four quizzes (Feb. 2, Feb. 23, Mar. 27, April 19). Each quiz is worth a maximum of 25 points. Each quiz will have 5 multiple-choice questions (2 pts. each) 2 fill-in-the-blank (2.5 pts. each) and 1 short answer essays (10 pts.each). Quiz questions will come from lectures, labs, and assigned readings. Quizzes will cover material since the last quiz.
LAB ASSIGNMENTS (12): There will be twelve labs worth 10 pts. Each. Lab grades will be based on attendance and points from assigned exercises.
GRADING:
Hourly exams, 100 points each 200
14 laboratory assignments, 10 points each 120
4 quizes, each worth 25 pts. 100
Total 320
ACADEMIC HONESTY:
Cheating, plagiarizing, or assisting others without consent of the instructor will result in a grade of zero for the first offense, and a course grade of F for a second offense.
